The excitement from my visit at Hilton Head Health has not died down, as it has become very hard for me to talk to my husband about anything else. As my best friend, we talk about everything. He is very excited for me to feel this way about eating right and exercise. My two girls pick out healthy recipes from the web and they get a kick out of cooking.
My latest ‘aha’ moment came from a recent doctor’s visit. I have what is called Malignant Hypertension, meaning my blood pressure is very high all the time. During the visit, I found out that my numbers have gone down almost 10 digits due to the exercise! My numbers are still high, but are getting much better. I have been on medications that have not produced these results! I have lost a few pounds and several inches.
I have not been able to find a Belly Dancing class yet, so I just make up my own…it is hilarious!! I have also learned that H3 secret weapon does not kick in until you get back home…Amber is STILL in my head (get her out)! I miss you all and look forward to seeing you soon.

Now that I am home, I am very excited to do the things I learned at H3I. Grocery shopping has never been so frustrating! Picking out the ‘best’ things was hard, not because I didn’t know what to pick, but because I wanted what I would call the ‘good stuff’ - full of fat or flavor in my old world. However, I am willing to give it my best effort for a NEW NORMAL! Amber’s voice is still in my head, but she would be glad to know I have made her proud. I still try to crawl back in bed after taking the girls to school, but I have managed to do my workout or walk or something, so that at least it is out of the way. I miss everyone at H3I - it was as though we became a family, looking forward to family meals together. I wish everyone the best with your efforts; remember to strive for just a little change daily and it will make a difference in the end. Be positive!

Last week Hilton Head Health (H3I), the nation’s leading weight loss destination and spa, hosted two deserving army wives from Fort Bragg, NC. Anjanette Jones and Erika Hubbard were selected by Fort Bragg to receive a one-week stay at Hilton Head Health to prepare themselves for their husbands’ return home. H3I acknowledges the wives’ commitment to the army lifestyle and supports the hardships that come along with it. Their experience at H3I will empower them with the knowledge, practice and resources to make healthy changes for themselves and for their families while their husbands serve in Iraq.
While at H3I, these women never skipped a beat. From Beach Boot Camp and Meal Planning sessions to Zumba Latin Dance and Personal Training sessions, each wife was armed with the information needed to continue on their path to a healthy lifestyle.
Prior to their husbands return, each wife will return to H3I to participate in our 7-day program and also receive a makeover to complete their transforming experience. Compliments of DK Style, a first class team of image consultants, each wife will receive a complete makeover consisting of skin care, make-up, hair styling, wardrobe consulting and a professional photo shoot. Not only will the wives feel their best, they will be able to radiate their new positive energy with a glamorous new-do!
